Link M1 1024G comes with a 868MHz (EU) STREAK™ Capabilities too.
The range of a STREAK™ can vary depending on several factors like the environment, antenna and output power.
- Urban Areas: 2–5 km (1.2–3 miles), due to interference from buildings and other obstacles.
- Suburban Areas: 5–15 km (3–9 miles), where the signal can travel more freely with fewer obstructions.
- Rural Areas: 15–40 km (9–25 miles), or even further, depending on line-of-sight and minimal interference.
- Open Spaces: Up to 100 km (62 miles) or more, especially in optimal conditions like flat terrain and minimal interference.
STREAK™'s long-range capability comes from its use of low power and wide-area communication, but actual range can vary based on the environment and setup.
Generally, STREAK™ is designed for low-bandwidth communication, ideal for sending small amounts of data over large distances with low power consumption.
Data Transmission Capabilities:
- Data Rate: Ranges from 0.3 kbps to 50 kbps, depending on the configuration (e.g., spreading factor, bandwidth, etc.).
- Payload Size: Typically up to 250 bytes per packet, although smaller payloads (e.g., 51-61 bytes) allow for faster transmission rates.
- Typical Use Cases: Doomsday Scenarios, Sending sensor data, telemetry, or control messages in applications like smart agriculture, environmental monitoring, or other IoT systems.
Range for Data Transmission:
- Urban Areas: 1–5 km (0.6–3 miles) for sending data.
- Suburban Areas: 5–15 km (3–9 miles) for data transmission.
- Rural/Open Areas: 15–50 km (9–31 miles) or more, depending on the environmental conditions and setup.
STREAK™ uses LoRa Communication devices and must comply with local regulatory requirements and frequency allocations. In the EU, devices operate on the 868 MHz band with a 1% duty cycle, while in the US and Australia, they use the 915 MHz band, also with a 1% duty cycle. In Asia, frequencies vary by country, including 920-923 MHz in Japan, with similar duty cycle limitations. All devices must adhere to applicable certifications, including CE, FCC, ACMA, and local regulatory authorities.
